Dr. Corley serves as the principal health informatics executive in the MITRE Corporation Center for Government Effectiveness and Modernization with responsibility for direction, oversight, and input into the Federally Funded Research & Development Center’s clinical programs supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), and Department of Homeland Security.
Dr. Corley is a practicing physician with 12 years of experience as Chief Medical Officer for NextGen Healthcare, a leading Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendor. Dr. Corley brings a unique blend of executive-level leadership in EHR implementations; expertise in Health Information Technology (HIT) standards and patient safety; and in-depth understanding regulations and healthcare policy. She served for four years as Governor for the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Physicians, the first woman in that position.
She is a Navy Veteran with experience in diverse healthcare settings, including the military, academic healthcare systems, long-term care, government clinics, and private practice, in addition to leadership in the American College of Physicians. She served as Vice Chair of HIMSS’s Electronic Health Record Association, the EHR vendor trade association and a member of the HIMSS Physicians Committee. She has authored more than 15 journal articles and book chapters and spoken nationally for the past 23 years predominantly on topics related to HIT.
